Kevin Feige Offers a Marvel Phase Three Update, Talks Thanos, Black Panther and More!

The stage is set and the pieces are in place for the next collection of Marvel Studios movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they’re prepared to hit the ground running with Captain America: Civil War this May, but after that come even more offerings with new corners of the world, and galaxy, set to be explored. Speaking with Empire (via CBM), Marvel Studios president and producer extraordinaire Kevin Feige opened up about the phase three films.

First up is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the different versions of the team from the source material.

“There’ve been many different incarnations of the Guardians over the years in the comics and we’ll catch a glimpse of additions over the course of the movie.”

On Thanos and his presence, or lack thereof, in the “Guardians” sequel, Feige said.

“I wouldn’t look too hard in that movie for Thanos. The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, ‘Oh, that’s why they’ve been teasing this villain for five years!”

On the size of the upcoming Spider-Man movie, which has been teased as being “smaller” for some time.

“Smaller scale is all relative….It’s going to be as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made. But it’s a Peter Parker story and has more opportunity to be focused on the story of a 15-year-old kid going to high school.”

Regarding Thor: Ragnarok, Feige said that fans shouldn’t take that title to be a literal adaptation of the Norse apocalypse and that as fans have desired for so long, there will be very little Earth.

“I don’t think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie’s going to be. It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk… The film takes place within the cosmos primarily, which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Finally, Feige spoke about Black Panther, which will star Chadwick Boseman in the title role and feature a “primarily African-American cast,” and have a connection to Avengers: Infinity War.

“This one is important,” Feige said. “It’s a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T’Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king. T’Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”

"Captain America: Civil War" Directors Open up on Spider-Man, Inter-Character Relationships

 

"Captain America: Civil War" co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo discussed Captain America and Bucky's relationship, how they updated Spider-Man and more in an interview about the final film in the "Captain America" trilogy (via ComicBookMovie.com).

In regards to Captain America's relationship with Bucky, Joe Russo explained, "We've always interpreted the relationship as two brothers. They're very close characters, they have a relationship with each other that is very deep. The bond between them is very strong, [which is] what motivates the storytelling. These are both characters that came from nothing. Captain America was basically an orphan, and Bucky's family took him in. When he was asleep for several years, he lost everything that was dear to him. And when he took the serum and became Captain America, he gave away a large part of himself for a patriotic cause. So, you have a character who is searching for the only thing that he has left from his past… and that's Bucky."

However, the film will tackle more than just Captain America's relationship with Bucky. "I think two of the most endearing scenes in the film are between Steve and Natasha," Joe Russo went on. "And of course, that relationship will carry forward into 'Infinity War.' They have a real respect for each other, but they're very different and they admire the differences in each other, and they find a commonality those differences."

As to Spider-Man's appearance in the film, Anthony Russo weighed in on what made their version of the character different from past incarnations. "It was very important to us that we go younger with the character because what we love about Spider-Man is that he's still a high school student. That's a part of his vulnerability and it's what makes him special in the Marvel Universe; he's very unique. We wanted to play to that aspect of the character. We also wanted to think about 'Who is Spider-Man today?' A lot of times, when you get interpretations of Spider-Man, they're very nostalgic to the origins of the character... We wanted to think about who is Spider-Man today if he's living in Queens, what's the texture of his life like, what's the texture of his relationship with his aunt who lives with him. How can we make the relationship and character very contemporary? That’s our goal with the character."

Joe Russo also explained just how they will use "Civil War" to conclude the "Captain America" trilogy. "We're going to go on emotional journeys with these characters. We've got a lot invested in the emotion. We have responsibilities to be mindful of how these people feel about the characters and, at the same time, we also have a responsibility to carry through on the storytelling. As filmmakers, we believe in stakes. You can't have good storytelling without strong stakes. So, there will be a price to pay in 'Civil War.'"

The Good Dinosaur Movie

Ok dinosaur is going to be different, no not because it s a Pixar movie but, well let’s face it, the story is really different. Till date dinosaur movies take us back into the past but, dinosaur does not take us anywhere but, rather asks us a question- what if dinosaurs were not extinct and still living among us. The movie is no doubt a cartoon but, the imaging is so real, it’s just elevating. It’s when the characters come in front that you realize it’s a cartoon movie and as the character appears on the screen the cuteness captivates and makes you want to go ahead and find out what’s going to happen.   

The main focus of the movie is on two central characters Arlo and Spot. The dinosaur is Arlo, a really huge cute Apatosaurus and the little boy is Spot. Arlo is lost as he fell down in the river and is now far away from his home so he begins his journey up the river and on way he meets Spot an orphan. Now if you are thinking what type of name is that for a boy well, you can actually call Spot Arlo’s pet dog. Because in the movie it’s Arlo who’s playing all the human dialogues and Spot well is just tagging along. 

In terms of landscape it’s definitely going to be one of the best. The movie comes with a bag full of brilliance in technology, is packed with emotions, the appeal is eye capturing and the humor is worth the laugh. While watching the movie you will be indulging every now and then on the question of the possibility of dinosaurs being alive among us today. With the festive season coming around, it definitely means you can enjoy the season with Dinosaur and enjoy the festive season ahead.

The 33 Movie Review

Later when a hole was mode into the ground from above Mario also managed to send videos of the men so their families could feel at ease on their well being. Back on the ground makeshift camps were made so the family members could stay nearby as not just the government of Chile but, international help came forward to help remove the 33 miners out from the mine. The movie also focuses on the fact that mining is a necessity yet the lives of the miners are taken so lightly.

They are not given adequate care or ration and the most important part is safety and security while they work. The reason The 33 stands out as it not only portrays the trauma that the men went through but, the ordeal of how the men were rescued. The fact this particular mining incident was taken as part of a film is not something in particular or bias to the other mining incidents that occurred around the globe but, just the part of showcasing the strength, wit, will power and urge to survive that the 33 men had in them. This is a real disaster that took place on that dreaded day and 69 days later the men saw light sand faces of their loved ones, is really worth the watch.

STAR TREK BEYOND Casts Lydia Wilson In Mysterious Role

Relative newcomer Lydia Wilson (About Time, Never let Me Go, Ripper Street) has joined the cast of Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond. Will she be a friend to Kirk, Spock and the crew of the Enterprise; or perhaps she'll side with Idris Elba's villainous character instead?

 

Star Trek Beyond has beamed up another new recruit in the form of Lydia Wilson, but in keeping with pretty much every other casting announcement for this movie so far, we have no details about the character she'll be playing whatsoever.

Wilson will probably be best known for playing Domhnall Gleeson’s sister in the Richard Curtis romantic comedy About Time, but she also popped up in the haunting sci-fi drama, Never let Me Go. Whoever she's playing she joins returning cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin; along with other new faces Joe Taslim, Sofia Boutella, and Idris Elba - who we do know will play a villain, at least.

This installment in the rebooted Trek franchise will be directed by Justin Lin from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, and is set to hit theters July 8, 2016.

Marvel's Ant Man is close to reaching $300M WorldWide

Even in its third weekend Ant man has over performed its fellow releases of the week like Pixels and Minions by securing 3rd spot on the box office this weekend by earning $12.6M and get close to $300 M.

Although there were rumors related to Ant man being first release from Marvel but suppressing all these rumors it has reached the third spot after Mission impossible rogue nation and Vacation movie in the box office table. However it was estimated that Minions will get past Ant man but it is on top still.

Ant man has earned $132.15M domestically and $159.5M overseas making it a total of $291.648M and it is not far from reaching $300M with an estimated making cost of only $150M, there is another sequel assured.

Also it hasn't been released in China and Japan yet... So What do you think?
